"Your view is so new that I just can't accept it!"
First of all, whenever anyone says this, the first thing that comes into my mind is....."wow, this person really hasn't put any time into studying this issue."
Did you know that Covenant Eschatology aka the Fulfilled View, has been around since the very first century?
If you want to read the earliest works of the earliest Preterists, just open up your New Testament. There you will find a bunch of men and women who believed they would see these things in their own lifetime. :)
But seriously, all throughout the ages, men have suggested in their writings, the ideas and principles of Preterism aka Covenant Eschatology.
It blows my mind how many quotes I find from men hundreds and hundreds of years ago that have Preterist undertones in them.
You'll hear many people say that they can't accept something "new". Well, these same people accept the Protestant Reformation and all that came with that. That didn't come about until the 1500's. So are we to say that we can't accept that because it didn't exist for 1400 years after Christ? Of course not.
The thing is, just because a "system" wasn't formulated to encapsulate and group together all the points of a certain belief, doesn't mean that portions and pieces of that belief system didn't exist long before the system came along.
The church father's have been in major disagreement and up and down on eschatology for a long time. I find quotes all the time from reformers as well as men long before them, that contain undertones of Preterism. It never amazes me though because one cannot read the bible and deny these simple truths.
